Environmental responsibility

We use the earth's heat and the sun's energy so you can spend your holiday with clear conscience.

At Hvidbjerg Strand we focus on taking good care of nature so you and our other visitors can relax and enjoy your holiday with a clear conscience - now and in the future.

In the earth beneath the campsite we have buried 6 km of hoses for our  geothermal energy facility - one of the biggest of its kind in Denmark. On the rooftops of our buildings our solar heat systems ensure that every beam of the sun is utilised all year long. We gain the energy for all of the hot water in our Wellness centre from these installations. So just take a dive with a clear conscience - the Wellness Centre is almost CO2 neutral.

Have you seen the wind turbines at Horns Reef? Altogether they make up Denmark's greatest offshore wind turbine park and it can be seen from our beach in clear weather. The turbines deliver power to a lot of Danish homes, including the buildings in the Resort.

The waste heat from coolers and freezers in the stores are used for heating up the Water Park. The wastewater is pumped directly to the modern wastewater treatment plant in the city of Varde, and we have installed water economical devices in our service buildings. So just take your shower with a clear conscience, but remember to economise on the water anyway.
