Holidays with dogs

Does your dog need a holiday too? Bring it along to Hvidbjerg!

At Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark your dog is welcome. We have several accommodation options where pets are allowed, and the scenic area is a paradise for both you and your dog.

We also have a large and a slightly smaller fenced dog run area directly on site where your dog can run free. If your dog needs stimulation or you just like to exercise with them, you can do so on our fun and challenging agility course. The holiday park's unique location in the scenic area around Blåvand and the North Sea offers plenty of opportunities for play and great experiences in nature for children, adults and dogs alike. Go for a walk along the beach, hop on your bike and explore nature or enjoy some quiet hours by the fishing lake with your four-legged family member.

Please note that from April to September, you are only allowed to walk your dog on Danish beaches if it is on a lead. We encourage you to always keep an eye out for local signage, as the rules for dogs on beaches can vary from area to area.

Weekend breaks with dogs

It's so nice to go together... and that goes for the whole family - including your furry friend. Going on holiday is a great feeling, but that sweet feeling can quickly be overshadowed by worries about where the dog will be, how much it will cost and how it will feel while you're away. That's why we know how important it is to make sure there's room for all members of the family, including the dog.

In fact, dogs are only not allowed in the beach hotel and camping rooms, which means you can book a holiday in a beach villa, a fisherman's house, a western cabin or the entire campsite. This gives you the opportunity to decide for yourself whether you want a luxurious camping holiday or perhaps the comfort of a beach villa - either way, you're close to the North Sea and close to all the great experiences and activities that Hvidbjerg Strand Feriepark has to offer.

While the adults take the dog for a walk on the beach, the kids can play in the large indoor playground or trampoline centre, and if the dog needs a break, the whole family can have fun in the tropical water park with activities for both young and old. If you're a couple travelling with your dog, you can also use the wellness centre free of charge once a day - but your dog will have to wait nicely outside. So there are experiences both with and without the dog and for all age groups. If the weather is nice, your dog can enjoy the sun and fresh water on the beach with the rest of the family.

Luxury holidays with dogs

We are Denmark's only 6-star campsite, and this is partly due to the luxurious and comfortable facilities and pitches we offer our camping guests. If you book one of our large luxury pitches, you're in for quite an experience. There are variants from large pitches with water and TV sockets to huge pitches with space for two caravans, private shower and toilet, TV sockets and a private outdoor spa on the terrace. There are almost no limits to how luxurious your camping holiday can be, and your dog is welcome on all pitches so they can share in the many great experiences and moments on your holiday.

The beach is not far from the pitches and it's a dog's paradise as the wide open spaces allow them to stretch their legs and explore kilometres of new nature experiences. Our large beach villas are the epitome of luxury. There is room for 6 people, and from the villa you have a front row seat to the dunes that shield you from the wind from the North Sea. You can't get any closer to the sea and on quiet evenings, you can enjoy the sea breeze from your own private spa on the terrace. Dogs are also welcome here and can enjoy a well-deserved rest and perhaps a sausage from the grill as the family cooks in the large kitchen or on the lovely terrace.

Dogs by the North Sea

Activities are generally plentiful when you go on holiday to the North Sea. The beach itself is an inexhaustible platform for play, activities and sports, and your imagination is the only limit to what you can experience on the white sand. If you take a long walk on the beach from October to March, your dog is free to run around, dip its paws in the lovely water or dig a hole in the soft sand. You can also plan a bike picnic where you head off towards the forest or beach with a delicious picnic basket packed and the dog chasing the bikes. When you arrive at the place where you want to eat your food, the dog can explore or take a nap in the shade under a tree. Hvidbjerg Strand is a great place to be a dog, as there are fantastic natural surroundings and plenty of space to play, and you're even allowed to bring your dog to several attractions, such as Blåvand Zoo (dogs must be kept on a lead).

Practical information for guests with dogs:

Dog baths

At buildings 30, 40, 50 and 60 we have dog baths where you can wash your dog after a nice walk in the woods or at the beach. The dog can be rinsed before dinner and you don't have to bring a dirty dog into the caravan or tent.

Dog forest and more.

Just a stone's throw east of the holiday park is Oksby Hundeskov, where the family dog is free to run around and play. The forest is fenced in and offers plenty of opportunities for a great day out in nature with the family dog.

Oksby Hundeskov address: Gammel Mælkevej 25, 6857 Blåvand.

In the same area is Bordrup Klitplantage, where the whole family can take their dog for a walk (on a lead) on the hiking trails in the beautiful forest. The area is incredibly popular for mountain biking and other cycling activities, so it's important to keep a close eye on bikes and keep track of your dog so it doesn't get into a cycling accident.

Veterinarians and animal hospitals

Although no one wants it, your dog may need a vet while you're on holiday. It's a good idea to familiarise yourself with where to find veterinarians before the worst happens. There are vets and animal hospitals in Blåvand, Varde and Esbjerg, which are 10, 35 and 45 minutes' drive from Hvidbjerg Strand Holiday Park respectively.

If you have any other questions, you're always welcome to call us on +45 75279040 or come to reception if you're already at our holiday park.
