Environment and responsibility

At Hvidbjerg Strand, we take care of nature so you and our other guests can relax and enjoy life with a clear conscience - now and in the future. We use the earth's warmth and the sun's energy so you can be pampered and holiday with a clear conscience.

Nature's materials

Wooden cabins with thatched roofs
We use nature's own materials when we build cabins and buildings in the holiday park. In addition to adding soul to the place, the buildings blend in with nature, which looks forward to your visit.

Hvidbjerg Strand Camping Resort Wellness Afslapning

It's hot

Geothermal and solar heating
In the ground beneath the campsite, we have buried 6 kilometres of hoses for our geothermal heating system, which is one of the largest of its kind in Denmark. On the roofs of the buildings, we have installed large solar heating systems that utilise every ray of sunlight all year round. It is from these installations that we get the energy for all the hot water you can enjoy in our wellness centre and waterpark. So dive with a clear conscience, it's almost CO2 neutral. You only have to come into contact with cold water if you want to.

Less food waste

Local ingredients
Our restaurant, Høfde4, uses local produce, which minimisesCO2 consumption and makes it easy to order items as needed and avoid food waste.

We don't take water for granted

Water-saving measures
We pump wastewater directly to the large modern wastewater treatment plant in Varde, and we have installed water-saving technology in our sanitary buildings. So take a shower with a clear conscience, but help us save water anyway.

Hvidbjerg Strand Camping Resort Horns Rev

Energy from the wind

Wind turbines at Horns Rev
Have you seen the wind turbines at Horns Rev? It is Denmark's largest offshore wind farm, visible from our beach in clear weather. The turbines supply power to many Danish houses - including the buildings here in the holiday park.

Our wastewater is not wastewater

...it doesn't go to waste!
All our wastewater at Hvidbjerg Strand Holiday Park is pumped to the wastewater treatment plant in Varde. So there is no seepage into the lakes and streams.

Smart power in the store

Power-saving store
We utilise the excess heat from the coolers and freezers in the store to heat the waterpark. In addition to using the excess heat in a smart way in the waterpark, our in-store equipment doesn't consume as much power as before.

Post-insulated idyll

Limiting heat loss
Buildings that have needed it have been retrofitted with insulation so that heat doesn't leak out and we don't have to use unnecessary energy to heat them.

Charge your battery with us

Charge your electric car
In addition to charging your own batteries with us, you can also charge your electric car at our stand. We have charging stations from Clever and OK. We also often use electric cars when we drive around the site. In the long term, we hope to have vans that run on electricity.

Hvidbjerg Strand Camping Resort Naesehorn Tilde Gruppe

Tilde the rhino

Rhino Sanctuary Namibia

At Hvidbjerg Strand Holiday Park we do our best to protect the nature and wildlife around us every day, all year round. We encourage all our guests to enjoy the wildlife from a distance and take care of it by, for example, throwing rubbish in buckets and not in nature. Hvidbjerg Strand is located in a beautiful natural area on the west coast of Denmark. Nature is at the heart of our identity and is also the reason why we welcome numerous guests to our cabins, hotel and campsite every year.

We value and understand the importance of protecting nature, habitats and wildlife in coexistence with humans, and we consider it our duty to support meaningful initiatives that contribute to the conservation of endangered species globally.

Our contribution to the conservation of endangered species

Our decision to adopt a white rhino in the Rhino Sanctuary Namibia is a testament to this responsibility. While our contribution may seem modest, we hope to be part of a larger movement. We sincerely hope that our actions will ignite a spark in other companies to join the fight to protect endangered species. We look forward to following Tilde and her calf Joanna in the years to come. We may even be lucky enough to witness Tilde welcome another calf into the world.

Furthermore, we are excited to share the story of Tilde and this amazing sanctuary in Namibia with our many guests. We hope that by telling Tilde's story and her life at Rhino Sanctuary Namibia, we can promote awareness and ignite a passion in our guests to get involved in the conservation of habitats and endangered species.
